Jamie Landers is an aerospace engineer who studied STEM at Penn State University. She was 1 of about 6 women in her class to study STEM and it wasn’t easy but she looked up to and back at all of the women who came before her and had made it, so she stuck with it. Now, Jamie is the director of advanced programs at Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton Colorado. Her team is in charge of finding ways to use space for global sustainability and space exploration. She admits that her job is very fun and that at 5 years old she declared to her parents that she wanted to work in outer space. It’s like she always knew. Jamie is co-chair of World Denver International Women’s Day presented by Lockheed Martin which is one of the largest International Women’s Day celebrations in the entire country. The event seeks to recognize women doing work globally, locally, and even out in space. Her message is to celebrate all women in life because of all the beautiful and incredible advancements they are making.
